GLF Schools

GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Ofsted & Performance Data

Ofsted Rated Good, February 2023

We are delighted that the Ofsted inspector was positive about the improvement at Greenway since joining GLF Schools when she visited the school in February and confirmed the school has retained it's 'Good' rating. Recognising that the school has been through an unsettling period, the inspector confirmed that we have “accurately identified the key aspects of provision that needs to improve” and praised our “focus and determination” to secure these improvements.

It is rewarding to read the inspector’s comments about how happy the children are at Greenway, describing the school as “a positive place to learn” and somewhere that gives them confidence to ask for help when needed. We are proud that the children were able to share their understanding of our values of ‘respect, compassion, aspiration, courage and integrity’ with the inspector.

We are particularly pleased that the inspector recognised our clear focus on reading, whichis at the heart of our curriculum. We have recently introduced a new phonics programme and the inspector saw that “staff have been well trained” to deliver this, noting that all our children are benefitting from our well-structured reading curriculum. It is heartening that the inspector found that our children ‘enjoy reading and being read to’. The inspection report commended our teaching of mathematics, stating that “pupils achieve well in mathematics”, and recognised the effective support that we are providing for our children with SEND. As the report states, we are now implementing changes to our wider curriculum to ensure that our children can achieve as well in all subjects.
