GLF Schools

GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Enrichment

At Greenway Junior School we offer a broad and balanced curriculum that is enriched in a number of ways.

Visits

Our school is situated near Horsham Park, Horsham Town Centre and the local Red River which provides us with easy access to local studies and outdoor learning.

We also provide opportunities for our children to experience learning further afield, for example at the Bluebell Railway in years 3 and 4, a day trip to France in year 6 and Lodge Hill Outdoor Centre in year 5. We also enjoy opportunities to welcome visitors into school including theatre companies, Elite Commandos, local authors and Roots to Food cooking workshops.

Clubs

We have an exciting range of clubs for our children to participate in that are run by staff and outside providers. They include sport, music, chess, art, dance, drama, literature, STEM, Go Wild outdoor adventures, card games, crochet, knitting and language clubs. These clubs take place before and after school and during the lunch hour. We also have a school council and a safeguarding council that meet weekly to discuss issues that are important to them, the school and the local community.

Links

Our school has links with a professional artist and many peripatetic music teachers. These links mean that our children benefit from opportunities to work alongside talented local musicians and be inspired by art as part of our Awe and Wonder days.

Community Links

As well as making the most of the parks and places that make up our local area we have many local community members visiting our school and contributing to our children's education. We visit older community members to sing and perform, we enjoy links with Christ's Hospital School involving our children in Maths quizzes and poetry events. We are also involved in a Junior Citizens programme offering some of our children the opportunity to learn more about citizenship.

This year we are also taking part in the Horsham Year of Culture and Horsham's Children's Parade.
